Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies on the Trady website and app.
Last updated: 19 April 2026
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the website remember things about you — for example, that you're logged in, or your preferences. Similar technologies (like local storage and pixels) do similar jobs. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of them.
2. The categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the website to function — for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your session during a booking, and preventing fraud. They cannot be turned off because the site would not work without them. No consent is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
Analytics (consent required)
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are used, how long people stay, and where the site can be improved. No analytics cookies are set until you accept them in the cookie banner.
Functionality (consent required)
Remember your preferences — things like the trade categories you've shown interest in, or which London borough you're in, so we can show relevant Workers faster next time. Off by default.
Marketing
We do not currently run advertising or marketing cookies. If we add any in future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.
3. The specific cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Category | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| trady_session | Keeps you signed in and maintains your booking session | Strictly necessary | Session (cleared when you close the browser) |
| trady_csrf | Protects your account from cross-site request forgery attacks | Strictly necessary | Session |
| trady_consent | Remembers your cookie banner choice so we don't ask again | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| trady_analytics | Anonymous usage statistics to improve the site | Analytics (opt-in) | 13 months |
| trady_prefs | Remembers UI preferences (e.g. borough, last-used trade) | Functionality (opt-in) | 6 months |
4. Managing your cookie preferences
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer, or by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site (the banner will appear again).
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of Trady from working — for example, you may not be able to complete a booking.
5. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if we add or remove cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
6. Questions
