How Get Trady protects you

Three things we actually do — and how each one is enforced.

01
🛡️

Insurance verified before any job

Every tradesperson must hold valid public liability insurance — £1M minimum, and £2M on Tier 4 jobs (£15,000–£50,000) — before they can take work.

We check the policy and its expiry date. If cover lapses or falls below the minimum, the platform blocks that tradesperson from taking new work automatically — it is enforced in the system, not left to a reminder.

02
🔒

Your payment is held by Stripe, not by us

Funds sit with Stripe Payments UK Limited, authorised by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution, under its regulated safeguarding arrangements.

KT Partners Ltd never holds your money at any point. Payment is released to the tradesperson after you confirm the work is done, or after the review window passes without a dispute being raised.

03
⚖️

A structured dispute process

If something goes wrong, either side can raise a dispute through the platform, and the disputed funds stay held while it runs.

Disputes follow a published 30-day timeline with defined steps for both parties. Every action is timestamped and recorded. See our Dispute Policy for the full framework.

What we don't claim

Get Trady is a marketplace, not a contractor. Your contract for the work is with the tradesperson you book, not with us. We don't guarantee the quality of their work, and we don't carry out identity, right-to-work, qualification or DBS checks. Public liability insurance is the only check we carry out.

On DBS specifically: we ask whether a tradesperson holds a basic DBS certificate and we display what they tell us on their profile. That is their statement, not ours — we do not check it, and it makes no difference to whether they are offered work. Stripe verifies identity separately, as a condition of paying anyone out.

Tradespeople are independent businesses, responsible for their own qualifications, registrations and compliance. We'd rather tell you that plainly than imply checks we don't perform.
