Problems and disputes
What if Trady's process doesn't resolve it?
The Trady process is not binding unless both sides accept the recommendation. If you reject it, or if the 30-day process closes without agreement, the funds remain in escrow and you have these external routes:
Money Claim Online (for claims under £10,000) — usually the most appropriate route for typical disputes; County Court for larger claims; alternative dispute resolution providers such as The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman where the tradesperson is a member.
If 90 days pass with no resolution, no court action, and no good-faith engagement for 60 consecutive days, the funds default-refund to you in full.
