What evidence helps a dispute go in my favour?

Build your evidence as you work, not after a dispute arises. The most useful items: Timestamped photos at the start, mid-point and completion; Get Trady messages confirming what was agreed (especially any scope changes); receipts for materials; time logs showing when you were on site; and any third-party invoices for parts or subcontractors.
