What if I did some of the work but the dispute says I shouldn't be paid in full?

You're paid pro-rata for partly completed work: Materials are paid in full if you've actually bought them and have receipts to prove it. Labour is paid on a stage-based scale (broadly 25% / 50% / 75% depending on how far the work had progressed when it was disputed).
